The Dell & Darlinda Gorley Family

Darlinda sent this email out at the end of February.  It’s a great update on the fam:

“I am glad to announce that FINALLY I have weaned myself from AOL. I have DSL so we now, do the MSN thing! How's that for some fun deciphering???

“We are all doing great. I am still working at Jo-Ann's. We are getting a Super Store in Nov and I am excited to see the new building. I will be the Merchandising Manager (with a raise) and not the Store Manager. I am good with that! I would not have a life if I had that big of a store to manage. I still have two kids to raise so I am good!

“On that note: Ryan is a vice pres at Opsgear.com. He is doing engineering and graphic art. Loves the job and takes good care of his mom.

“Curt came home from his mission and six days later moved to SLC. He too is working full time and going to school. He is majoring in film-making and then advertising. He is loving it and doing well.

“Emily and her husband are in Portland. Loren is finishing up Medical school and she is expecting her first in July. I am so excited to be a grandma, I can't believe it!! We call him/her, Jack-Jack! (Jack is her married name) Loren takes great care of her and I am so proud of the both of them, they love each other so much.

“Rebecca is doing well with her horses. She has a new one. I know, like three were not enough. We now have a Polish Arab. His name is Skip and she is learning a lot on him. He is a very sensitive horse and so she is becoming an excellent rider through her lessons with him. He is boarded with her teacher. We still have the other ones and will do our own thing with them this summer. Gin is a great horse for English riding and she loves it too.  I am looking forward to our rides in the mountains again. I take lessons with Rebecca too. We have both loved English Dressage. She is still writing and will graduate High School this year. She is going to major in English at USU and work on her Classical Dressage stuff.

“Megan just finished a season of swimming at High School. She is enjoying running, now that swimming is over. For those of you who have not seen he lately, she is ALL legs and taller then Rebecca. She loves Seminary and her dog, Zelly. Zelly is her best friend. She would take that little dog anywhere if she could. She loves fashion and makeup and her favorite show is "What Not to Wear". We all watch it together and have fun!

“Life goes on and a day does NOT go by that we do not think of Dell. We try to live our lives so that he would be proud of us. We love and miss him! Take Care to all our friends and family.......

Love the Gorleys”

Jerry and Pat Scheib Family

Another mission for the Scheibs!!!  Grandma sent us this on March 9th:

“Jerry and I are filling out our papers today for another mission.  We plan to go anywhere in the US we are sent.  After much prayer we decided on 12 months and if we make that we will probably go again in the future.  We decided we needed to stay in the US for health reasons.  Jerry has to take refrigerated medication and it has to be sent in overnight mail.  We have other health concerns but all in all we are doing very well.  We have requested another Spanish speaking mission.  I am hoping it won't be in California again but we will go wherever we are called.  It will take a couple of weeks before we can send in our papers.  We both are working on the dental things this week and are scheduled for the doctor next week”

For those who may not know, Grandma LOVES her chickens!  Here’s the update:

“I am sending some photos of my latest "designer chicks."  They are 3rd generation Polish Frizzles.  The 1st generation was between a Polish Rooster and a Frizzle Hen, That chick was bred to a pure Polish Rooster.

“These three chicks are the result of the third mating to a Polish Rooster.  They are Scruffy, Shaggy and Star.  My great hobby will be put on hold for 12 months.  I will still be able to keep my full grown chickens because your mom [Darlinda] has offered to feed and care for them.  A friend will pick up and hatch the eggs while I am gone.  I give the chicks to her to sell anyway.  I have limited space and can't keep more than 20.”
