Darrell & Karen Jack Family

The biggest news is that Bryan will marry Lydia in the Vernal, UT temple in August.  Bryan and Lydia met at Brigham Young University and are in the same ward and family home evening group… convenient, eh?  They have been dating since last fall and will continue pursuing their academics in Utah Valley.

Bryan is a competitive candidate for the accounting program, to which he will apply in the late summer, from which he plans on graduating in the spring of 2009 with an MBA in addition to a bachelor’s degree in accounting.  Lydia currently pursues coursework requisite for nursing school, for which she will be applying.  They will both be attending school during the summer, taking enough time off to get married before the fall semester.

Best wishes, good luck, and

welcome to the family, Lydia!

Grandpa and Grammy Jack are doing well, and have a packed summer planned for 2006 with us expecting their first grandchild two states away, Bryan getting married, and Tiffy competing in the Ms. Utah pageant.  That’s okay though, they eat it all up!

They have a whole lot of bike riding penciled in for the summer; Mom just treated Dad to a new bike!  In addition to joyriding, Mom is training for her first triathlon, which will be at the end of May.  It involves pretty good distances of swimming, biking, and running.

Dad has been working hard in his new position as department manager in L3’s accounting department.  Although overjoyed for his new position, his yearly training meeting is in Las Vegas this year instead of sunny Florida.  Ah well… there’s always next year!

Dad and Mom recently visited us up in Portland over spring break.  We got a lot of pictures, especially at the beach.  We got to show them an award winning clam chowder place (Dad loves chowder), a picturesque beach, and a whole lot of pine!  Always glad to show the fam around Oregon.  Thanks again for coming.

Pictures of the Trip

Tiffy’s been working her little keister off at the U of U while valiantly fulfilling her duties as Ms. Tooele County while working half time WHILE faithfully fulfilling her calling as birthday specialist in her student ward (gotta love those student ward callings… I miss those days).

She recently submitted her 50+ pages of paper documentation and application materials for the Ms. Utah pageant and will compete the first week of July.  Best of luck, Tiffy!
