February 2006

Feb. 1          Becca competed in the Utah We the People Constitutional Competition.  In short, it is a competition where small groups of students answer specific questions regarding the history and application of the constitution.  AP government classes are broken into student groups that compose papers, which are presented to judges in a team oration, and answer questions by the panel of judges on the spot.  She participated in preparing and presenting all three of her team’s compositions.  At the state level, each school, regardless of size, competes against each other.  In addition, each school send about 6 student small groups.  She found out the following week that her small group of 4 students actually did the best out of all the other groups in the state!  Her AP government class from Mountain Crest will be going to Washington D.C. to compete at the National level later this spring.  Well done and good luck at Nationals!

Feb. 18        My best buddy through high school married a girl named Katie in the Mount Timpanogos Temple today.  Although I was not able to go personally, my family attended the wedding.  Congratulations and good luck!
