20 Weeks

Halfway to Victory!!!

This last week (week 19) was an exciting one for us!  Baby Jack finally made his/her presence known with a few strong kicks on Monday night as we were reading scriptures.  I, of course, didn’t know what that powerful thumping could possibly be, as I was waiting to feel little “flutters” and “bubbles”.  But I guess I missed that stage completely and went straight to kicks.  “What was that?”  I said, puzzled.  I put my hand on my abdomen and actually felt the little foot (or whatever it was) pushing out!  A friend informed me a couple days later that it really was the baby.  That night I really started to feel it and the little one hasn’t sat still since!  Loren even felt the little kicks, too, by pressing firmly on my tummy!  What an amazing experience!!!  We’re so excited that our little baby is becoming more and more a part of our family!

And we’re getting ready for it, too!  We now have just about all of the big stuff for baby...a crib, dresser, changing table, stroller, carseat, swing, bouncer, infant tub, snugli (a carry pack for newborns), a backpack for all our rugged Oregon hiking expeditions, and even a little baby gym.  We got it all for rock-bottom prices on craigslist, a local online classified ads website.  If you want to hear about our sweet deals, give us a call! :)  We’ve been driving all over Portland for two weeks now collecting treasures!  We even met a French family moving back to France.  Anyway, here’s most of the stuff:

This is his little foot.  You can especially see his big toe!

His face is on your right.  You can see his fingers making a little gun in utero.

This time his head is on the left.  You can see where his eyes are and his little ribs casting an ultrasonic shadow.
